Quinoa Porridge with Figs and Raspberries

1 cup quinoa
3 cups water
1/2 cup milk (of your choice - soy, almond, cow)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 large fresh figs
150g fresh raspberries
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup


  1. Rinse quinoa in a sieve under cold running water
  2. Place quinoa and the water in a medium saucepan; bring to the boil
  3. Reduce heat to low and cook covered for 15 minutes or until quinoa is tender
  4. Add milk, sugar and cinnamon and stir to combine
  5. Cook for a further 5 minutes
  6. Serve porridge topped with figs and raspberries and drizzle with honey/maple syrup
